Allergen from the pharmacy
Most of today’s parents have no idea how to treat the child without using drugs. Started cold – nasal drops, cough – we will buy mixture. And the kid did not get sick again, the body can be supplemented by another product of pharmaceutical production – multivitamins. The only pity is that sometimes the medicine chest to get a lead to other diseases, such as drug allergy. Only, perhaps, a positive feature of this disease – its rarity. Indeed, allergic reactions to medications occur much less frequently than food allergy. Otherwise, the disease (by the way, allergy in Greek means “other action” from the words allos – other, and ergon – action) is extremely unpleasant, and usually puts mothers and fathers to a standstill, and doctors need to adjust traditional therapeutic approaches to the “allergic” crumbs. External manifestations of drug allergy are very diverse. They can vary from innocent cheeks reddening of the child, hives all over his body, runny nose, or swelling of the skin at the injection site, and end with the most severe swelling and suffocation, at which have called for an ambulance. Regardless of the type of reaction the drug should be stopped immediately, and always consult a doctor with the words: “What to do?”.
Ironically, the unhealthy effect of attempts to improve children’s health is related to its protective forces. Baby body mistakenly thinks are “good” substance in the “bad” and starts to violently resist their reception. At the beginning of XX-th century, the Austrian pediatrician Clemens Pirquet noted that the allergens are so many proteins, as well as any alien molecules and chemical elements (such as bromine, iodine, nickel, chromium), which can attach to proteins in the body and turn from their “friends” of “enemies. ” As a consequence is an itchy, red, and suffocating an anaphylactic reaction (from the Greek. ana – strengthening and phylaxis – protection). Hormone histamine, our personal control of blood tissue in contact with the allergen is released abruptly, simultaneously expanding the blood vessels, causing swelling and spasm of the airways.
